The Slow Road from Thailand to Burma (20 days)

This exciting overland journey takes you from the frenetic delights of Bangkok to the serene majesty of the former Thai capitals of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai. From these atmospheric ruins, travel through stunning scenery until you reach the Thai / Burma border at Mae Sot, where you will cross into Burma and head for the former colonial town of Moulmein (or Mawlamyine). Passing along rivers, and through karst landscapes, just as Rudyard Kipling would have done, you arrive in Yangon for a chance to explore this fascinating, and rapidly changing city. With the sightseeing behind you, the tour ends with a few days on the golden sands of Ngwe Saung Beach, where you will have time to recuperate and reflect on a great adventure.
