With its undulating topography and network of walking trails linking remote villages with mountain passes, Nepal offers some of the best hiking in the world. This tour starts with some easy day walks in the foothills of the Himalaya before a more challenging 5-day trek in the Annapurna region. Start in Kathmandu for some time to explore the bustling capital before setting off into the central hills to explore the rural landscapes of Nuwakot and ancient town of Bandipur, with some white water rafting on the Trisuli River en route. Continue west to the attractive Gurung village of Sirubari to stay with a local family, and spend time hiking in the surrounding hills and countryside. After some time to prepare in the lakeside city of Pokhara drive north to the Annapurna Conservation Area and embark on a spectacular trek through the Himalayas that takes you close to several of the world's highest peaks. This well-established route is lined with comfortable teahouses and restaurants run by welcoming locals that make the trek more enjoyable and surprisingly comfortable. Return to the capital and drive up to the village of Nagarkot, perched on a ridge overlooking the Kathmandu Valley, and enjoy some mountain biking to finish off your adventures in Nepal. This trip is suitable for anyone who is reasonably fit and has a keen sense of adventure.
