The Subhas Hotel was commandeered by the army during the civil war, and now peace has returned to this part of the country it has undergone a major refurbishment and is looking to receive tourists again. The hotel has 17 rooms which are simply furnished, but comfortable, and come with cable TV and a private bathroom. Hotel facilities include a restaurant and a bar. The hotel's central location make it a good base for exploring the city and surrounds.

Following a major refurbishment the Subas is once again one of the centre pieces of tourism in Jaffna
