The Uga Residence is a luxury boutique haven with just 12 rooms occupying an interesting old colonial house in the Slave Island district, close to the centre of Colombo. The house itself is steeped in history, having been built 250 years ago and also being the former home of an important Sri Lankan family. The large rooms are spread around an attractive swimming pool, with minimalist design, enhanced by their size and the high ceilings and all have well equipped modern bathrooms. The hotel restaurant serves fine modern continental and Asian cuisine throughout the day.
